Sheila Schmidt Joins Ryan Companies as Director of Healthcare Development

Ryan Companies US, Inc. announced Sheila Schmidt has joined the Ryan team as Director of Healthcare Development in the SouthWest Region. In this position, Sheila is focused on assisting our current, as well as potentially new, healthcare clients successfully achieve their real estate goals. She is able to provide guidance in all aspects of development from site selection and land acquisition, municipal approvals, constraint analysis and due diligence, to design and construction coordination, and lease and sale negotiations.

“Sheila represents Ryan’s continued investment in the growth of the SouthWest Region,” said Rick Collins, President of Ryan’s SouthWest Region. “Her skillset will be a great advantage to Ryan as we grow our healthcare sector and we’re thrilled to have her filling an important role in our development team.”  Sheila joins Ryan healthcare specialists in Minneapolis, Chicago, Cedar Rapids, and Tampa, helping Ryan clients evaluate, plan and execute real estate and construction solutions in the ever-changing healthcare marketplace.

Sheila brings over 14 years of experience in the healthcare construction and development world, working on both regional and national projects. Sheila spent more than six years at DPR Construction in Phoenix, responsible for helping grow their market share in healthcare, life sciences, advanced technology, higher education, and other markets. Most recently she was a Principal at PK Associates.

Sheila received a Bachelor of Science in both Chemistry and Biology from Central Michigan University. She is very active in community and industry organizations, among them the Phoenix Community Alliance – Executive Committee, Arizona Business Leadership, and Central AZ Society of Healthcare Engineers. She was recently appointed to the Dignity Health Foundation – East Valley Board of Directors and also serves on the Board of Special Olympics Arizona, CoreNet Global Arizona chapter, and on the Advisory Board for CareFund. She is a LEED Accredited Professional.
