Sagewood’s $100 Million Phase II Construction Reaches 70% Complet, Adding New Apartment Homes and Amenities

Phase II represents largest addition to community since opening

Sagewood, a Life Plan Community featuring a resort-like setting in northeast Phoenix, has reached more than 70% in construction progress for its $100 million Phase II that includes 101 independent living apartment homes, new restaurants and community amenities.

Sagewood is being developed by LCS Development and is managed by Life Care Services.

Sagewood’s 220,000-square-foot, 3.5-acre Phase II will feature both one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, an 18-hole championship golf putting course, and new dining facilities including The Owl’s Nest restaurant and lounge, expansion of the existing Canyon Café, and an expansion of the current Palo Verde Dining Room which will become a new, separate venue called Sonoran. Phase II will also include additional card rooms and new administrative offices.

Featuring 13 new apartment home floor plans, one-bedroom and two-bedroom plus den designs with individually controlled cooling and heating systems, will be offered. All residences will include patios or balconies and range from 873 to 2,351 square feet starting at a one-time entrance fee of $450,000.

Sagewood is currently 97% occupied in Phase I. An attractive financial plan is offered that provides a minimum of 80 percent refund of the one-time entrance payment, no matter the length of residency. Residents pay an ongoing monthly fee determined by the size of their selected home, which covers an array of services and amenities including the cost of future long-term health care.

Phase II represents the largest addition to the Sagewood community since opening in 2010. It is planned to complete in early 2021.

Located in the scenic desert of northeast Phoenix, Sagewood is currently a 316-residence, luxury senior living community featuring a fitness center, movie theaters, indoor and outdoor pools, auditorium for multi-purpose use, formal and casual dining. The beautifully designed Acacia Health Center and Desert Willow Assisted Living — which accepts admission from the public — offers a refreshing approach to long-term health care with assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care support.

Life Care Services of Des Moines, Iowa and Westminster Capital are the joint-venture partners of Sagewood.

Todd & Associates has designed the Sagewood community and The Weitz Company serves as the general contractor.
