Four teams of more than 40 team members and residents of Liv communities participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Chandler, AZ event on April 29, 2016 at Basha High School in Chandler.
The Liv apartment communities hosted several fundraising events over six months leading up to the event, raising $10,000 to help the American Cancer Society save lives through groundbreaking cancer research, education and risk reduction efforts, and free information and critical services for people with cancer who need them.
“It was inspirational to see employees and residents of our communities come together to support Relay For Life’s great cause and make an impact on the fight to end cancer,” said Heidi Arave. “Together, we celebrated those surviving cancer, honored those that have lost the fight, and took tangible action to make a difference.”

The residents and team members from Liv Avenida in Chandler, Liv Northgate in Gilbert, Liv Ahwatukee, and Liv North Scottsdale were all recognized for their extraordinary efforts.
The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay For Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams raise funds in the months leading up to the event. Relay For Life is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community, with four million participants in 6,000 events worldwide in 2015.
