Watt Communities of AZ Breaks Ground on Biltmore Living

Phoenix Councilman Sal DiCiccio and officials from Watt Communities of Arizona broke ground today on Biltmore Living, a 40-unit, for-sale upscale urban townhome project offering a new but affordable way to enter the coveted Camelback Corridor high-end infill residential market.

Biltmore Living is the second Watt Communities project to break ground in Phoenix this year, part of at least four urban residential projects that the company expects to initiate in the Valley by year’s end.

“Watt Communities is an outstanding builder. We’re very proud to be a part of this fantastic project in the city,” said Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio. “We’re appreciative of the significant investment and look forward to more partnerships.”

Biltmore Living is located on 2.26 acres south of Glenrosa Avenue between 26th and 27th streets, less than a mile south of 24th Street and Camelback Road, and the Biltmore Fashion Square. When completed, Biltmore Living will offer contemporary, three-story urban townhomes ranging in size from approximately 1,400 to 1,800 square feet, each with its own two-car garage. Community amenities will include gated entry, pool/ramada/sundeck, outdoor poolside kitchen and landscaped areas throughout.

“Residents at Biltmore Living will be minutes from the shopping, dining, entertainment and job opportunities that exist within the Camelback Corridor,” said Steve Pritulsky, President and CEO of Watt Communities of Arizona. “Being just one mile east of the 51 Freeway and three miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor, they will also have the rest of the Valley – and the world – at their fingertips.”

“Market momentum has demonstrated the power and popularity of a connected, urban lifestyle,” said Paul Timm, Chief Operations Officer for Watt Communities of Arizona. “We’ve selected key land sites that provide this mix across the Valley, and are very excited to begin filling the demand of local residents.”

Construction at Biltmore Living is underway now, with first deliveries scheduled by first quarter 2016. Pricing for the townhomes will be released as the community nears completion.

Watt is also now under construction on Dorsey Lane, a 51-unit for-sale townhome project in Tempe, Arizona, just south of the southwest corner of Broadway Road and Dorsey Lane, and one mile from Arizona State University and the Tempe Town Lake employment corridor. Dorsey Lane mirrors Biltmore Lane with three-story, upscale townhome offerings and the same high-end amenity package. First deliveries at Dorsey Lane are expected by year-end 2015.

Other Watt projects nearing groundbreakings in metro Phoenix include a community of 31 two-story, single family detached homes near 32nd Street and Cactus Road in North Phoenix, and the company’s newest project, totaling 35 upscale urban townhomes at 8th Street and Roosevelt, on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix.

At Biltmore Living, BSB Architects serves as the project architect, CEG is the civil engineer and Watt affiliate WCA Development Services is the general contractor. The construction lender is Sabal Financial.

Watt Communities of Arizona continues to evaluate other sites in key Phoenix area urban infill markets as well, with the goal of developing additional quality, attached and higher density detached for-sale communities.
