Southland Engineering a division of Southland Industries ( has signed a
lease for 11,162 RSF at 1500 N. Priest Drive within the Papago Buttes Corporate Plaza in
Tempe, Arizona. The new facility for Southland Engineering is located in a corporate office
park owned by Principal Real Estate Investors in the vibrant and rapidly expanding north Tempe
submarket, within the master planned Papago Park Center, just north of the Loop 202 Freeway at
the intersection of N. Priest Drive and Washington Street in Tempe, walking distance from the
Valley Metro light rail station at Priest and Washington.

Upon completion in 1st quarter 2015, the1st floor space in the 1500 N. Priest Drive building will
feature modern and creative architectural finishes for Southland Engineering, designed by
SmithGroup, including a direct exterior entrance with outdoor patio, and creative/collaborative
work areas. Southland’s occupancy at Papago Buttes will provide a feature showplace for the
products and services of Southland Engineering, and will take advantage of the market leading
employee services at Papago Buttes, including its on-site date center, redundant back-up electric
circuits with UPS back-up and diesel generators, full-service on-site café, child care center, mail
center, and fitness center.

The tenant was represented in the lease transaction by Matt Wiley and Shannon Kling of Heiple
Travers Realty. The Landlord was represented by Chris Walker and Mike Beall of Cassidy
Turley, who have leased the project on behalf of Principal Real Estate Investors
( since the asset acquisition in 2004. Metro Commercial
Properties ( proudly represents the management of Papago Buttes Corporate
Plaza for Des Moines, Iowa based Principal Real Estate Investors, and provides professional
property management services for Southland and the other corporate occupants of the 511,081
RSF Class A office project.

The new lease with Southland Engineering brings occupancy at Papago Buttes to 99%. Metro
Commercial Properties is currently working on architectural designs for a future 4th building to
the Papago Buttes Corporate Plaza campus to accommodate the growth of its corporate residents,
