LGE Design Build Set to Break Ground on New 20,000 SF Facility for Milam Glass in Surprise

Milam Glass is breaking ground. The family-owned-and-operated business has long been the Valley’s go-to provider of premium-quality commercial glass, and they’ve teamed up with LGE Design Build to break ground on an expansive, 20,129 square-foot part-production facility, part- “forever home.”

The official groundbreaking for the building set to undergo construction at 132nd Ave & Dysart in Surprise is slated for 9 a.m. Monday, April 17, and company employees, city officials and partners assisting with the project are all expected to attend.

Milam has supplied storefronts, medical facilities, schools, resorts and other businesses across all industries with expertly crafted commercial glass for nearly 50 years, carving out a name for itself in the field thanks to its quality products, trustworthy reputation and constant professionalism.

“We set goals for the company each year, and we knew a permanent home was a natural next step,” said Ernest Nevarez, Milam’s HR Director and Business Development Manager. “LGE’s work is visible all over the Valley, and we were already familiar with them, given our frame of work. Partnering with them for this project is a no-brainer.”

The $2.2 million new facility boasts an impressive, floor-to-ceiling glass facade, with LGE serving triple-duty as the developer, architect and general contractor.

“We’re anxious to get rolling, and to add something new and striking to the landscape in Surprise,” said LGE Design Build President and CEO David Sellers. “Milam Glass rightfully has a lot of pride in what they do, and our goal is to create a space that highlights and demonstrates that.”
