John C. Smeck III has been named Senior Vice President | Mortgage Advisory at Colliers International in Greater Phoenix.
In his new role, Smeck will initially create a fully integrated debt and equity platform for the Arizona operations. He then will assist in the company’s national effort to roll out the program throughout the United States as leader in the West.
“Colliers International offers a robust collection of service groups here in Arizona and we are excited to now be adding debt and equity assistance to our clients ranging from investors in the brokerage division to landlords in our property management area,” said Bob Mulhern, senior managing director of Colliers International in Greater Phoenix. “John’s expertise in mortgage banking will be a fabulous asset to our program both here and in other cities.”
Smeck brings 32 years of Arizona mortgage banking experience to Colliers International. His career has involved commercial real estate investment analysis, debt and equity financial analysis, capital markets advisory services, client development, institutional investor relations, corporate leadership, management and strategic planning.
Prior to joining Colliers, Smeck spent 30+ years as a principal and managing member of the Arizona operations for Johnson Capital and its predecessor companies.
His leadership in the industry includes service as president and director of the Arizona Commercial Mortgage Brokers Association. His career experience also includes membership in the Urban Land Institute and its CRC and IOPC product councils, as well as membership in Lambda Alpha International. He is a member of The Thunderbirds and Past President of the Desert Southwest Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
