The past year held many challenges for everyone in our industry. We dealt with ongoing economic challenges, but we worked harder and smarter because of them. We’re coming out of 2012 and in to 2013 tougher than ever and with a renewed sense of knowing who we are, what we want, and where we are going, and the leaders featured in this issue are no exception.
In our cover story, Commercial Executive Magazine profiles some of the best partnerships in the industry. Commercial real estate partnerships have the potential to be volatile or otherwise unrewarding simply because of the uncertainty associated with real estate. In fact, the business partners profiled in these pages could all write a book entitled “The Perks and Pitfalls of a Perfect Partnership,” mindful of the possibility of trouble in the relationship. Yet, in most instances, these partners will tell you, there have been very few pitfalls—even in the dark days of 2008 and 2009.
