When Colliers International in Greater Phoenix broker Rob Martensen isn’t showing properties, he is cruising at high speed on dirt tracks, rocketing his race car in the air over jumps and zooming around turns in “pro-buggy races.”
As part of Colliers’ values of family and fun, brokers and their families will enjoy a “Colliers Day at the Races” on March 19 and cheer on Martensen, senior vice president, as he races in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler.
About 100 people – brokers, employees and their families – participated in last year’s Colliers Day at the Races. Colliers provides tickets and lunch for employees. Martensen proudly displays Colliers’ logo on his racecar, a semi truck which hauls his car and an awning that provides shade for lunch (pictures attached).
Martensen has been racing for about 20 years. He began working at Colliers in 1997 and has been involved with more than 600 transaction including industrial sales, leasing, build-to-suits and land sales.
“Racing is my differentiator. None of my peers do anything like this. It is a great way to connect with clients in an environment that is thrilling and unique. In the case of Colliers, it is a great way for all of us to come together for a common cause, fun!” Martensen said.
