Commercial Properties, Inc., Arizona’s largest locally owned commercial real estate brokerage, is pleased to announce the sale of the historic Landmark Restaurant in Mesa, Ariz. Rex Griswold and Andrew Jaffe of CPI’s Sales & Leasing Team represented the sellers, Don and Candy Ellis in this transaction.
Aldea Weddings of Peoria, Arizona purchased the ±10,000 SF building at 809 West Main Street. The extraordinary building was constructed in 1925 and occupies 1.16 acres located just west of Extension Road, on the SW corner of Main Street.
The Landmark Restaurant was well known for their gourmet salad room and prime rib, but was also a Mormon Church up until the 1950’s. It is also the site where Mesa Community College started in 1963. Over the years while the restaurant was in place, the Landmark Restaurant has often been utilized for its wedding and banquet facilities. The City of Mesa’s Historic Preservation Office was involved to insure that the historic architecture would be preserved, and is pleased Aldea Weddings will be using the building as a wedding and banquet hall for generations to come.
Rex Griswold commented, “This sale allows this unique and historic building to be preserved. The Landmark restaurant will to be able to serve and say good bye to their loyal customers until the closing for internal remodeling on May 30,2015.”
