Coldwater Depot Logistics Center, a one-story, 754,335-square-foot Class A industrial building in Avondale, Ariz. has been named a 2016 TOBY Award winner in the Industrial Office Park category. Managed by Cushman & Wakefield, the J & J Coldwater – Lake Washington Partners owned asset has advanced to the regional level of competition in the coveted TOBY Awards. This year’s BOMA Greater Phoenix TOBY Awards were presented on Nov. 4 at the Arizona Biltmore, which are among the highest honors bestowed by the association.
Sponsored by BOMA (Building Owners Managers Association), the TOBY Award is the single most prestigious and comprehensive commercial building evaluation program to recognize and honor excellence in office building operations and management. BOMA advances the commercial real estate industry through advocacy, professional development and information exchange.
According to Sue Cannon, Senior Vice President of Asset Services with Cushman & Wakefield, “The team is simply outstanding and this is the first TOBY win for Cushman & Wakefield in Phoenix. We have high hopes going into the Regional competition.” The Cushman & Wakefield Coldwater Depot Logistics Center management team is comprised of Patti Farina, Director; and Julie Roberts, Property Administrator. Susan Howard-Duty, Property Manager and Jennifer Liles, Assistant Property Manager were also part of the team from development up, until they were transferred to the GLP portfolio in May.
Throughout the various levels of the competition, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly examined during the judging process, including tenant relations programs, community involvement, emergency preparedness & security standards, energy conservation, environmental sustainability, and continuing education for building personnel. Floor plans, site plans and photographs round out the portfolio, providing an extensive examination of the building by the judges.
“My team and I proudly accept this award on behalf of Lake Washington Partners. The resources that Cushman & Wakefield provides, with the support from the owner and the dedication of my team, allowed us to go above and beyond when presenting this building to the judges,” said Patti Farina, Director of Asset Services with Cushman & Wakefield.
The Toby Awards annual competition consists of three hotly contested levels. The competition begins at the BOMA local association level. Winning entries then advance to the regional level and, finally, regional winners advance to the international level. The international level is the most celebrated and coveted stage of the contest and will be presented at the BOMA International Conference in Nashville on June 27, 2017.
