Christopher Todd Communities, a Valley-based creator of luxury horizontal rental living, has retained Mark-Taylor Residential to oversee leasing and property management of the company’s innovative single-story, single-family home gated communities. To date, Christopher Todd Communities has begun work on two communities – one in Surprise and the other in west Phoenix – and it has plans to develop 1,200 to 1,500 such homes over the next 18 months. The “horizontal” refers to the single-story nature of the rental homes, as compared to traditional vertical apartment buildings that are two- or three-stories tall.
“We chose Mark-Taylor Residential because they are the best in managing Class A multi-family communities,” said Todd Wood, CEO of Christopher Todd Communities. “They also bring to us tremendous market intelligence and substantial resources that will help us lease quickly and deliver a quality experience for our residents,” he concluded.
Every home in a Christopher Todd Communities neighborhood will feature smart home technology such as keyless entry, doorbell cameras, and climate control; backyards with some as deep as 20 feet; stainless steel appliances; 10-foot ceilings, and granite counter tops. The communities are gated, beautifully landscaped, pet-friendly, with resort-style pool, ramadas, outdoor fire pits, barbeques and community park. Private detached garages are also available.
“We are very excited to be selected to represent Christopher Todd Communities with leasing and on-site management. Mark-Taylor has 42 class-A apartment communities under management throughout the Valley. From the first meeting we had with Todd Wood and heard his vision for this new type of community we knew we wanted to be a part of it. We believe there is a big demand for this type of residence and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to represent it,” said John Carlson, President of Mark-Taylor Residential.
Christopher Todd Communities expects to begin leasing activity at its community on Greenway and Litchfield Roads in Surprise this fall, and early 2018 at its community on 99th Avenue near Lower Buckeye Road in Phoenix.
