George Rubelsky becomes Senior Project Manager, will lead and grow team in Greater Phoenix
PHOENIX, ARIZ. – David Genovese, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company’s Arizona region, announced today that the firm has launched a new project management practice group in the state.
Effective immediately, George Rubelsky becomes a Senior Project Manager based in the company’s Phoenix office. He will lead and grow the team in Greater Phoenix and throughout Arizona.
Rubelsky, a licensed general contractor within Arizona, brings more than 30 years of real estate development, project management and construction management experience to Avison Young, most recently as project manager with Sun State Builders in Phoenix.
“On behalf of our Arizona regional office in Phoenix, we are pleased to launch our new project management practice group with George at the helm,” comments Genovese. “This new team will enable us to provide our occupier, landlord and property management clients with services related to all aspects of the complex development and construction-management process from start to finish – whether that be for new construction, renovation or tenant-improvement functions. This is an ideal fit, as we can now offer a full-service and streamlined experience to our valued clients.”
For the past 17 years, Rubelsky has focused his expertise within the Greater Phoenix area, building valuable relationships and a solid reputation with developers, owners, lenders, architects, contractors and other key industry players. During his career, Rubelsky has managed projects with a combined value in excess of $500 million for dozens of Fortune 500 companies.
“The launch of the new project management practice in Arizona comes at a crucial time,” says Avison Young Principal Wally Hale, who specializes in tenant representation. “The costs of construction and tenant improvements are on the rise and could affect the corporate decision-making process and disrupt timing expectations. This practice group will be a game-changer, as we can now work more closely with our clients early in the deal-making process and help create cost efficiencies, reduce risk and assemble development and construction teams that are accurately sized based on the unique requirements of each project.”
“I am excited to have the opportunity to join Avison Young, which has a national and international platform as well as an established brokerage-services and property-management presence in Phoenix,” says Rubelsky. “Our common goal to grow a dynamic project management team and make a significant impact on the company’s Arizona region as user demand and the overall economy expand at a rapid pace.”
With Sun State, Rubelsky was responsible for the overall management and cost control of several projects, among other duties. Prior to joining Sun State, he served as senior project manager with CBRE Project Management, where his duties included overseeing renovations to office buildings as well as ground-up construction of restaurant and industrial properties.
Rubelsky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction engineering from Arizona State University.
